‘‘My Toes Have Never Been So Warm’’

I am so, so glad I bought these boots. I live in Yellowstone where winter is harsh, but these boots are standing up to the challenge. I have been wearing them for nearly a month now in cold, snowy, and icy conditions and here are my impressions: So far, these boots have kept my feet warm and cozy in single digit temps, and I expect the -20 comfort rating will hold true. They feel warmer than my Sorel Caribou boots that are rated to -40 (and are much more comfortable for all-day, every-day wear.) I’m one of those people who always have cold toes...but not in these boots! Only after I spent two hours shoveling snow out in single digit temps did my toes even begin to feel cold—but still not uncomfortably so! (I wear them with heavy cushion wool hiking socks.) The Arctic Grip sole does actually handle ice really well. I was slipping around in my Sorel duck boots, but I haven’t slipped once in these. If I have to mention any cons it might be that there is no arch support, but this can easily be solved with inserts, I suppose. Also, the leather has suffered some scuff marks so these boots will require maintenance if you want to keep them looking brand new. Overall, these boots perform as advertised, and are immediately comfortable, lightweight, easy to slip on and off, and as previously mentioned, great for all-day, every-day wear. I highly recommend these boots! Size note: I wear size 10 (in most casual shoes) and 10.5 (Sorel and serious hiking boots). I ordered a size 11 since there is no size 10.5 and it fits perfectly.
