‘‘great shoe except for the heel’’

I have had the shoes for about 8 months and I love them. Their shoe that fit great easy to take on and off. It also nice to have water proofing, especially down in Oregon during the rainy season. But the reason I can\'t give these a 5 star is because of the heel. The heel has a plastic plating in it and it crap. The plating crumbled and now feels like shards of plastic are hitting my heel. Luckily there still wearable but I have to massage the plastic around till it all flat. There also is no way to take the plastic piece out. It sad because I like the shoe but for some reason they used crappie plastic for the back of the heel. I going to try to get them fix but I not ssure I will be able to. For that reason I giving them a two of of five. The heel problem is that bad. Their other shoes are great. To bad about these one.

‘‘These boots started falling apart after only wearing them for 1 1/2 months’’

I thought I had ordered a nice looking durable water resistant boot, but the the hard plastic in the heel area has crumbled inside the lining of the boot creating bumps in the back of the boot making them just uncomfortable to wear. I took these as my only shoes for a 2 week trip in Japan and they just started falling apart at the heel the 1st day. I only had these for 4 months before the trip and wanted to make sure they had properly been broken in as we were planning on doing a lot of walking/hiking. The back of my heels were just raw after a few days. I know Redwings last forever and don't just disintegrate on you like this. You'll probably be better off buying those over these. I'm going to try to get a replacement or refund under their warranty, but we'll see how that goes. A boot that cost almost $200 should last longer than 4 months and I did not wear them for more than 1 1/2 months of those 4 months.
